Choral Groups

The Joyful Praise Choir is open to people ages 17 and up. The JPC ministers through music/worship leadership each week during our morning worship services. We strive to provide music that is uplifting, encouraging and exciting through a large variety of musical styles. We are currently in a building campaign and pray for an average attendance of 12-15 percent of the congregation to be involved in this ministry. We have a little ways to go so come and be a part of a dynamic ministry of LBC.

The Golden Voices Senior Adult choir is designed for anyone ages 55 and onward. This choir presents gospel songs, hymn arrangements and seasonal selections throughout the year. Our Golden Voices desire is to reach out into the community in various venues and facilities to provide an uplifting message of the hope found in Christ. The fellowship and commitment of this choir is evident in the love they share in their music and lives.

Instrumental Groups

The Praise Band is a small ensemble of electric and acoustic instruments that accompany the congregational and choral singing of the church. This group is open to advanced musicians with skills of either wind or string instruments. An informal auditioning is required for this group.

The Handbell Choir rings a three octave set of Melmark Handbells. This ensemble rings year round. The ability to read music is helpful but not a requirement. The ringers need to learn basic rhythmic skills to participate and they will be trained to ring their assigned bells as we meet.

Please inquire if you are interested in being a part of these groups; openings will be announced in handbells, and there are several possibilities currently open in the praise band.

Small Groups

The Praise Team is a select adult ensemble that provides selections for worship on a regular basis. This ministry team has been featured at several state and local events.

Voices In Praise, a select ladies ensemble, brings an exciting celebration of worship to our services.

We are currently seeking to develop the following:

Mixed Trio – (Contemporary Praise)
Mixed Gospel Quartet
Men’s Gospel Quartet

Preschool & Children’s Choirs

A Preschool Choir is offered for 4-5 year olds. Through participation, the Preschool Choir provides musical adventures for the younger musician as they are taught the basics of God’s love through music. The Preschool choir presents heart-warming presentations for parents and the church family.

The Children’s Choir is available to students entering or in the first through fifth grades. This choir provides music opportunities in both small and large group settings. Basic instruction in the Bible, music and worship is provided for the spiritual and musical development of the child. The choir provides musical settings along with dramatic presentations throughout the year. The leadership of the Children’s Choir program is committed to teaching with a heart for the child and for Christ.

Youth Groups

Our Youth Choir ministry is open to all middle and high school youth. Though we are not currently in session, the hope is to begin in the near future. When in session the youth choir will provide musical selections on regular bases in the evening worship services. We will prepare exciting music written to meet the spiritual, musical and vocal needs of the young voice.

Our youth also have the opportunity to lead in the youth worship times.  The worship leadership group is coordinated through our youth ministry teams and will meet with the youth leader at a separate time from the youth choir practice.

It is also our desire to begin a Youth Praise Band that will learn the art of worship leadership and be utilized on an ongoing session with the youth worship ministry.

The Youth Creative Movement team is a regular leader in worship here at Lizella Baptist Church that use various creative means to interpret music into a beautiful vision that truly enhances the songs message.

Our Youth Drama Team is second to none and have provide dramatic presentations world-wide and locally. They have been seen regularly at the Cherry Blossom Festival and the Perry Fair as well as in Russia, several Caribbean Islands and in the states.

Technicians

Technical assistance on audio, video, computer, and logistics resource personnel are vital to our ministry and are the unsung heroes of every service. If you are interested in learning how you can be a behind the scene worker in the music ministry, please contact the Worship Pastor for details.
