Journey With Jesus

Welcome Friend.  Congratulations on your decision to follow Jesus & trust Him as your Lord and Savior.  Best decision you could ever make.

We want to share a few resources with you for your journey, but first we want to let you know two themes that run throughout God’s Word to you.

1 – Do not fear.  Our world isn’t perfect.  In fact, it’s pretty full of imperfect folks who do hurtful things and make poor choices that tend to make things worse…BUT, GOD is faithful.  366 times in His Word, we are commanded not to fear (once for every day of the year, even on leap year)!   He will never leave you, nor forsake you.  He will love you and forgive you– and actually, He already has.

That is not to say life is going to be peachy every moment from here out.  There will still be hurtful people, and hard things.  Jesus also said ‘in this world you will have trouble’ but take heart, because He has overcome the world.  Your journey begins with hope.  With companionship.  With guidance from the source of all truth and wisdom.  And with POWER through the indwelling Holy Spirit.  You are not alone.  Even in the difficult times, He is with you.

2 – Trust.  Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.  Lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.”  There will be times you don’t understand His will or His ways.  Keep trusting.  Keep the faith.  He has good in store for you.  Romans 8:28 says that all things work for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.  That means even in the hard things, God is growing you and preparing you for your place in His eternal Kingdom.  Don’t give up.  Keep trusting.  Lean in.  Read His Word.  Talk to Him.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding.  The verse of scripture in the very center of the Bible is Psalm 118:8 (NKJV) which says “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man.”  This is not a coincidence.  All of God’s Word is an encouragement to trust Him.  He knew you before you were born. He planned for you, and He has a purpose for you that will bring Him glory, even when you cannot see it.
